★ Christmas post ★

It seems everyon had a great Christmas, so now it's my turn to share hah

When it actually came to the day I guess I felt a little subdued, though I haven't been very well
I think I felt most with the Christmas spirit during my few visits to the
Christkindelmarkt (German Christmas Market) that was held in Leeds

The best sausage cooking machine to ever exist!
With hilariously scary German men too, "YOU MUST TAKE!"

The food stalls there were amazing, so many interesting things
Honey Mead, giant marshmallow sweets, hazlenut coffee, after eight flavour dohnuts
and also large soft pretzels used as a sandwhich bread. I was quite amazed by that!

My eating wasn't limited to German markets (unfortunatly lol)
and I had a few too many festive treats including,

Snowman rice treat
It was so hard to eat but the creativity is awesome! I loved it so much!


and since there is a Krispie Kreme in our region now, there have been a few...

The Christmas edition Red Berry style is glittery!
So awesome, but I will miss the Tree shaped ones as they were the best ♥


So, onto the day itself!
I spent morning opening presents with my family
and in the afternoon they went to a family friends house so I visited my boyfriend

One of his kittens tried to join us for dinner!
She was sat properly for a while but them moved as soon as we tried to photograph her
Typical pets! lol

I'm super peeved at myself for feeling so rubbish and ill over the holidays
I totally wish it just could have been next month haha
But I still had a nice time and the Christmas dinner was so YUM ♥


On to the presents!!
I could not be bothered to take individual images so you will have bundles haha

So much Lush, plenty of perfume and my first pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes!
Santa was so very kind to me this year ♥


Whilst typing this I was making so many mistakes
It really irritated me and got me pointlessly upset, so I apologise for any mistakes left!

Lime Crime Carousel Gloss ★

♪ This post could be considered picture heavy ♪
Well, it's a heavy post over all so I apologise in advance for any mistakes made!

Not too long ago I received my Lime Crime order placed on Cyber Monday
Despite "shipping problems" I found that it wasn't too long or bad to wait
I totally understand how busy any shops become with sales and my SoleStruck order took a little longer
Despite being shipped out before, but that's beside the point here hah

I also received it in the Unicorn shipper!

For some time International orders weren't available to be shipped
in these boxes (something to do with shipping label size?)
But now they can, hurray! A cute box you can easily reuse ♥

As you can see gloss isn't the only thing I bought, more on those later
The postcard and glitter sticker were free to all who ordered in the sale


First I'll mention the outer packaging of the glosses

They're really pretty and match their name sake of Carousel
I tried to show each side of the box here lol

The end of the boxes are labelled per colour
So if you wanted to keep your gloss boxed you can easily see which is which

Inside the packaging
You can see the box itself is rather chunkier than the gloss tube
It's held safely in place with a little bit of card inside
and on top the lid of the glosses is an embossed Unicorn logo, sweet touch!


On to the gloss packaging itself!
It really is a treat to the eyes, unique and just darn cute

The lids are made of metal with a frosted purple colouring

The tubes themselves are made of plastic
I love the twisted appearance so much, it's really pretty
The tubes are also really good at keeping excess gloss at bay
The stick inside never comes out soaked in wastes gloss, which is really useful

The ends of the tubes also state the colour name
Many people may say the twisted deisgn can cause an illusion of how much
product is actually inside the tubes, but they are pretty thick
and to set wondering aside each tube has 3.5 g / 0.12 oz of product ♪


Now onto the swatches, finally hehe

Candy Apple - $17.00
"Deep ruby-red with crimson glitter"
I think of all the glosses in the collection this is the more focussed one
and I am instantly reminded of my love for Hedwig and the Angry inch
It took a little getting used to in application, and you can see I made a mistake
It's a little hard to correct mistakes with the gloss so take your time and be careful
Score; ★★★☆☆
Wasn't as impressed as I hoped to be, but still nice!

Golden Ticket - $17.00
"Can you believe your luck? This Golden Ticket is all yours!
Bronzed metallic gold, especially stunning on darker complexions"
It looks to have been produced a little different, I'd say the other glosses
are colours with glitter as well but I think Golden Ticket is more lamé
I wasn't expecting this to be a favourite but it was the easiest to apply
and even though photographs show it to look patchy it looked a lot smoother irl
Score; ★★★★☆
Will be hard to co-ordinate but still lovely

Loop-de-loop - $17.00
"Midnight blue with iridescent sparkle"
Blue is one of those lip colours thats a little more 'out there'
When I saw the full collection for the first time I was really excited by this shade
However this has ended up bottom for me, it was a pain to apply
It came out thinner than others and was very streaky
When applying it felt like I was moving it around too much and eventually gave up
You can see from the swatch it's not the best, maybe with a little practise
But for now I am a little saddened as I had high hopes for this shade
Score; ★☆☆☆☆
Gave it 1 as it could look good over Styletto

Kaleidoscope - $17.00
"Plum-purple with turquoise sparkle"
Much like Loop-de-loop, I was much excited by this shade
I can easily see this one being my favourite of them all ♥
Was one of the best to apply, easy to get it to look deep and opaque
Score; ★★★★★
Ticked all the boxes for me!

Cherry On Top - $17.00
"This pink-red jelly gloss is packed with rainbow sparkle. Pretty please, with cherry on top?"
I think of all the glosses I was least excited about this one
But I felt weird buying them all apart from this, weird OCD feelings haha
It offers a red less deep than the Candy Apple with a pinkness to it
Since the others are rather dark and bold I think this is one that can transfer easier
into lighter seasons such as Spring and Summer, it doesn't feel as confined to gloomy weather hehe
A surprise favourite too, it looks rather yummy and pretty
Score; ★★★★☆
More a 4.5 but I can't half the stars hehe



Over all gloss notes;
One coat will easily cover one lip, more coats needed for a fully opaque finish
To get a fuller coat I 'dipped' in the tube between 4 ~ 6 times depending on the colour/application
Not overly sticky, just average for any gloss. Less sticky than Candy Doll which I previously used
The glitter is fine and you don't feel any "grit" from it whilst wearing
Beautiful yummy scent, I think it's Vanilla? I want to eat it


Will I buy these again?
I'm not a frequent wearer of gloss and so I find myself thinking "probably not"
Unless I somehow ended up addicted to a particular colour and wore it to death
I do like them, don't get me wrong, but I will be sticking with the lipsticks ♥
and I will probably wear them over a base in order to reduce the need to apply a lot
also as a way to get a fuller colour without risking streaks in my application as I suck haha
If Lime Crime made a lipstick to match each shade as a base, that would be perfect!

Tis the season...

The picture of my poodle is so old haha
It's the only Christmas picture I had to hand though so it will do

I suppose this is a return? After a month of Hiatus, did you miss me?
I was sort of aiming to be back in the New Year, but I guess I got bored hah
The reasons why I stopped haven't gone but I am more on my way to resolving them
I will probably seem a little on semi-hiatus as gaps between posts will be longer
But I'm sure you don't mind waiting... or at least I hope so! ♥

You may notice the banner here has changed a little
My blog will now simply be known at Sami Spoon, much easier than a half Japanese title!
Posting may be different too, I'm still figuring out directions for this blog etc
Do I want it personal, reviews, a mix? I don't know
I suppose the scramble of it is a reflection on myself lol I am all over the place
I have such varying interests etc, it's only natural my blog show all of these


As for Chritsmas, I hope you all have a fab day and don't drink too much mulled wine
I'm spending the morning with my family then a few days with my boyfriend
So when I am back, I will show le presents! ♥
I know I have some Jeffrey Campbell and Vivienne Westwood hehehe
