Eyeko GETS ★

Many of you may be familiar with Eyeko products
Well I finally got hold of my Ambassador pack from them
It included a postcard, cards for me to hand out and a lip gloss


The gloss is from their London Lips range in Mayfair

I'm not a huge fan of gloss as it is and unfortunatly this won't be changing my mind
I have to admit it has the most YUMMY vanilla scent to it in the world
But that's as far as the postitives go for me
I dislike the colour and the way it applies, from a tube
It meant I even managed to miss a fair bit of my bottom lip haha, woops!


I also took advantage of an Ambassador offer, it was sort of a fukubukuro/lucky bag

Would you prefer to see indiviual reviews of these items or have them in one entry?
It would be a bit picture heavy though... I guess indiviual is best
But of course if you don't even want to see them let me know that too haha

I feel like a bit of a lousy Ambassador and I guess it's my own fault
I jumped on this bandwagon for Eyeko before fully test driving their products
I've had a rather hit and miss with their products, I won't deny that at all!

Meet Cody, Punk and Alberto!
My boyfriends new pets who take their names from our favourite wrestlers
Cody Rhodes, CM Punk and Albert Del Rio ★

They are just so darn cute! He initially only wanted 2
But since they were 3 brothers, we didn't want to part them and got a Degu deal
and yes they have pooped all over their shelf hahaha, small pets poo so much
They even decided to poo whilst they were having a dust bath
Getting clean and dirty at the same time... MULTI TASK!

Degu's are really intelligant too, so far Alberto has the most confidence
So we have seen it in him more personally with his lust for Oats

They also make the CUTEST squeaks in the world
I got so used to hearing them this weekend, I think I can still hear them now
I can't wait to see them again hehe, I love animals a fair bit ♥

It's really making me want some pet Rats for sure!
At the moment I have;
3 dogs (Jack Russell, Miniature Poodle and Bichon Frise)
2 cats (Tabby and a cross Persian)
1 snake (King snow corn)
1 Rabbit (Big fatty bum♥)
...Theres always room for more

Circle lense review ★

The lenses in this post were provided to me by Candy Lens
Though recquired to review for their website all opinions stated are my own

Lense; Barbie Eye Black
This series is available in Plano and prescription to -8.00
Shelf life is 3 years with a usage length of up to 1 year
They are 15.8mm diameter



Sweet pink package from them!
The box is so useful for shipping the lenses, though I know from experience
That lenses which aren't already packaged like this will be boxed when they are sent

I think my animal case was a piggy? Sometimes it's hard to tell
But I'm sure it's a pig hehe, I love these animal cases so much!


It holds the lenses securely for transit
Don't the bottles look cute? It's such a shame they're temporary
Or do any of you use your bottles for something else?



Here is the lense! It's my first all black pair
I've always been interested in these but cautious to try becuase of their colour
So I was very thankful to be able to try out a pair and settle my curiosity ♥



Close up, you can see it's very opaque
But because the inner ring is wide enough to show your natural eye
It doesn't look overly scary of un-natural! I was really pleased with that
Being black too, they can easily suit all eye colours



One in, one out pictures are always very derp
But it's a great way to show the enlarging effect of a lense
These are 15.8mm so a little bigger than average like mose Barbie Lense


I think this brand of lense is becoming more popular lately
and with such great designs for lenses, cute packaging and also offering larger diameters
I can see why!
I've also found the bottles very easy to open, I think they are designed better
I'm not sure if its the bottles thinner neck or if the metal is different though

I do really like them but being black there isn't much to them like patterns etc

Comfort; ★★★★☆
Very easy to insert and they were also fine when I was blow drying too
One star knocked off only because for the first time they moved a lot
When I was applying my make up, this doesn't usually happen

Enlarging effect; ★★★★★
Great! With the colour being bold too theres no fading to cause any illusions

Recent beauty and gimmicky type gets!

Massage rollers, the one on the left is my newest
I don't think they help you lose amazing amounts of weight or anything
But what I know is that if you get tired legs after work, if you use this on them
Then the next day they dont ache at all! It's really good for that
I recommend getting one for that alone



This was literally £1 so I thought "why not?" haha
Im not sure how well it will work, but I have to say I used it just after brushing
and it still managed to clean stuff off!!
I'm not a failure at brushing my teeth or anything, I should point out haha
So I wonder if maybe its just... good? Haha who knows



A little brush to use when cleaning your nose to help reduce black heads
I hoped this would be a little less soft and more exfoliating
But its better than just slapping my cleaning gell on my face with my hands!



A face mask with charcoal extract, it actually has little lumps in it
of what I persume is the charcoal!
I wonder if the colouring is natural too, masks tend to be white

and yes, it is black...
FIERCE ♥

It hurt on my cheeks when I was peeling it off
But afterwards my face has felt so smooth!! I love it hehe

All were bought very cheaply on eBay, yay

Calorie off

One thing I've always seen in Gal magazines and blogs
are items like Calorie Off, in the form of leggings and such which aid weight loss
So I thought I would give it a try as you can find them relatively cheap on eBay

How does it work? The inside of the product is "ribbed" so as you move
it massages you and... does magic things to your fat/cellulite
As well as being tight and applying pressure to the area
Some Calorie Off products for legs even go as far to claim that
If you wear them and walk for 1hr you will burn 300-400kcal

I bought a waist style to try out and I kept a measurement of the area too
My weight itself has been up and down by a few pounds lately
But even when I dropped a few my waist size remained the same
So, it didn't work!

I think it didn't work in part because the smallest size available is a Medium
So it really doesn't hold you in tightly at all, doing so would help tonr your muscles
As you would be using them to suck your tummy in
But since it doesn't have any restrictions, your tummy if free to be as fatty as it wants lol

I bought some for my upper arms too which were the opposite and too tight!
The only weight loss you would acheive is from having your arms amputated

So all in all, these particular products didn't work out for me
Looks like there isn't a quick, miracle way to lose weight after all haha

Such an awesome pattern, I really couldn't resist!
These were the first Barbie Eye lenses I had tried
and also the first time I'd even witnessed lenses larger than 15.00mm

These lenses are BIG
it made them a tad fiddly to apply so if you're a first time user
then these may not be for you purely on that reason as its difficult to get in

As you can see the pattern over reaches the iris, the lenses are not white
They are black and clear, so the lense diameter is large enough to show your whites
It really makes the pattern pop in your eyes for sure!

Studded headband from Hellcat Punks
This was one of the first Japanese clothing brands I ever owned
Back when I was into Punk/VK hehe
I had a fanny pack by them and acollar with a giant bell
Couldn't resist this headband and it was on sale too!
They sent me 2 free model post cards as well, yay



My first W♥C goods in quite some time
and I find it apt that it would be the Charity T-shirt too
I had seen on Ameblo people getting signed notes from Chinatsu with theirs
Sadly I didn't get one, maybe my shipping service didn't see it? Who knows
But having the T-shirt and knowing it helped aid disaster funding is what matters!



This is the first item from the new season I have bought
But still no catalogue, darnnnn I hope they havent stopped printing them!
I always liked this tank but thought it looked short
Then I saw shop staff etc wearing it and it seemed fine
But I guess with my figure its not doing me favours
and as I feared it's shorrrttt *sob*
So I'm undecided what to do with it for now
Thats always a rish though when you buy online and from another country lol

Bath Salt Review ★

Bison Bakkantou Hot Bath Salt in 7 Hot Spices

The powder and salt rock mixture
Always so vibrant and as soon as I opened the pack
The scent hit me!! It's so very strong

I keep calling it "7 deadly sin spices" as a joke hah
The seven hot spices are made up of the following;
Capsaicin, Ginger, Zanthoxylium, Citrus, Pomelo, Blue Perilla and Sesame Oil


I took this just as I had poured the salts into the bath
It even looks spicy, and the pink powder turned a vibrant orange

The heating effects were also visible to me this time as more steam rose from the bath
The smell is very strong and of course, spicy!
It has the scent of spices, ginger, Yuzu (Japanese citrus) and also... floral!
Such a mixture but thats what I got from my bathing time hehe


Shame the flash didn't work but I took this as I was getting in and couldn't wait hah

I think I sweated the most I ever had before with this particular salt
I lasted 30mins in the bath and towards the end I had a voice in my head saying
"Girl, you're too warm! You should really get out now"
Before with these salts the water warmth the salts create is temporary
But because of the spices, it stuck around a long longer with this type
It really didn't let up and the scent was really strong too

I can't compliment this enough!
So I think I will stop before I just repeat myself and say "spicy" too much

I couldn't remember if when I lent them to my friend Rhi
If she had used up all my little silver stones when she did some of my iPod

and also that they have paper inside

How to get blog sponsors

Sponsors are such a fun part of blogging and are becoming more common
But I've been asked a few times on how you go about getting them in the first place
So I hope anyone who has ever had that question on their mind will find this useful!
The answer is simple; ask!
It might be out of your comfort zone to do this and sure, it can seem rude
But if you don't ask, you will never know
Some people are lucky to be contacted by the companies themselves
But others might need a little nudge

So simply find a sponsor site, look first for any specific sponsor links
In which you can simply apply through, or just send a polite e-mail
Mention your blog and how youd like to test drive products to show your readers



As for particular companies themselves, let's have a look...

MukuCHU is easily a popular sponsor for circle lenses
So much so they have changed their policies for application
To apply for a sponsorship see this page
You must have a frequently updated blog with at least 260+ followers for consideration
Don't have the right amount? Don't worry, if you have between 100 ~ 260 followers
Then in return for placing their banner on your blog, you can get discounts!
I've bought from MukuCHU with discount before and they were VERY generous
This can easily work in your favour too, buy the lenses at a discount rate
and review them as you would if you were a sponsor
Show them your reviews and that you're capable of doing what they recquire
It could easily bump you to the top of the list when you qualify for sponsorship!


Born Pretty Store is one very generous sponsor
They often give away items for free through their Facebook
When I contacted them I was offered a $10 coupon to use on products
which I would then be sent in exchange for a review
Since then, I've also put the reviews on the products page
This earns you points which you can spend on the website itself!
and they e-mailed me with compliments to my eyes and offered further sponsorship
They are just way too kind hehe ♥
Im not sure of their requirements but they are lovely people
Im sure you could come up with some kind of deal with them for sure
and if not, their products themselves are cheap, you can buy them
Review them on the site and earn money back! So nothing to lose out on there


A tougher but common website blogs affiliate with is Eyeko
Affiliation is different as you are not given products to review
Your goal is to instead try make sales and earn commission
If people use your code and spend £15 they will receive a free gift
The best way to make the most of this is to buy products yourself
and then review them on your blog as a means of trying to convince people to buy them
But obviously, this depends on how worthwhile you consider the process
Signing up is super simple though!

To have a quick cap, some do's and don'ts...

DO
Be confident and polite whilst emailing
Keep track of who is sending you what
Make sure you have the ability to take good quality pictures
Make sure your review is complimentary but truthful
Ask for other offers if you dont qualify
Occasionaly buy from the companies if they have items you like
Make sure you are comfortable with lenses
Make sure you understand how to care for your lenses
Link your reviews on their Facebook page
Write your review on their website too if possible
Mention all possible deals and offers in your posts
Be a postitive embassador


DONT
Sound desperate or as though you want free stuff
Pick a super popular design, they might have enough reviews!
Be rude if you are turned down
Constantly email the same place, they will ignore you
Steal from the company (ie/ not review and sell on lenses)
Be cheeky and get more than offered or haggle for more
Take low quality pictures that don't show the lenses well
Go out of your depth and ask major/high street stores
Take too long to review products!


So there you have it, all the tips and info I have to offer
Please feel free to ask me questions or add to the do/don't list
Just make sure you don't all rush to these sites to apply once you see this
They could become overwhelmed with applications and it would be more of a hinderance
It may also affect sponsorships in the future

Bath Salt GETS ↑↑

I may not be a bathsalt-zilla just yet
But as you can see, I've been bitten by the bug for sure!
Bathing just isn't the same once you've used salts so I couldn't resist more
Of course I had to get some more Bakkantou salts, 3 of which are new to me ♥
I have used the Happy Bath Day tablets before and they smell so awesome
The boxes are entirely new, one is a sweat style pack with spicy 'flavours'
The other is for fruity baths! I couldn't say no when I saw Grape in there


Why I like Bath Salts...
I'm mostly a shower person but I always had the rare bath to relax
One huge reason why I barely chose a bath was because it was boring
I would just feel awkward sat there, nothing to do, looking at myself
and until our hot tub style jets in our bath get fixed, bath salts are for me!
Well, that and the fragrance, colours and apparent weight benefits are a winner

Can they help you lose weight?
Some sweat bath types claim that having a 20 minute soak will make you sweat
The same equivilent as doing exercise for 2 hours!
I'm sure you couldnt just bathe and lose weight, you will need to diet and exercise
But if the sweat claim is true and you work out for 2 hours beforehand
Thats 4 hours of sweat you're burning with half the time being relaxed in a bath!


Not all bath salts will do that though, only specific sweat styles, so read the info first
Theres so many different types of salts for different problems ♥

To survive a hot sweat bath, make sure you take;
a drink to hydrate yourself and a face cloth to run under cold water
then put it on your head!

I always wondered why a cliche image of Japanese baths was someone
with a towel on their head, and now I understand! To cool down
Also don't be afraid to throw your limbs out the tub and open a window too haha

Rule Breaking; Short Hair

'Rule Breaking in Gal' posts were becoming less frequent on my blog
It's a shame because I enjoy finding and posting them
But at the same time its also really good as it means the boundaries
of rules in Gal are becoming less strict and harder to spot

People still do have a misconception that long, curly hair = Gal
and there are some short haired lovelies out there sporting lovely style

But none as short as this girls...
I had to double take on this one
I thought at first her hair was just super slicked back
So I zoomed in and was surprised to see it was so short!

I've never seen this in Gal before and I applaued EGG magazine (June 2011 ed.)
for spotting her and featuring her in their magazine
Can you honestly say that if her hat was on and you past her in the street
You wouldn't say she was Gal? Does having such hair make her less of a Gal?
Not at all, her make up is lovely (and her shoes are awesome too)

and just think how much easier wig wearing must be if she ever does want longer hair!

Trend suspicions

I can only speak for the UK here, but chances are when you were young
You either had or wanted a Baby G-shock watch

Well, I'm starting to believe they are making a comeback!


This was on ASOS, it costs £65... were they always this much?!

But I'm not basing my ASOS find on my trend suspicion
I've seen at least 2 customers at work wearing them, and then recently
Kumicky blogged a new Baby G watch!

A few gets from my weekend shopping trip

A much needed new foundation brush
The head is smaller than my older ones, but both my old brushes now smell of egg
and even though I wash them, I just don't like this, or understand why they smell lol
I always liked this range as it looks like Anna Sui plus it was the cheapest they had!



For Christmas I got a £50 giftcard and finally used it haha
I got the Topshop T-shirt made for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer
I wasn't amazingly keen on the print at first but it grew on me
and it's for charity so, why not?! Hehe ♥
I think I will un-pick the thread holding the sleeves up though
Such a square tank style wouldn't suit my figure I'm sure
I also used my card to get my boyfriend a new hat in Topman



Since the Palty dye recently didn't wow me with it's colour
I felt it necessary to dye my hair again hehe, results coming soon...
