Rule breaking in the latest EGG...

This breaks rules for obvious reasons as this girl could easily intergrate into KERA
I love that this was included
even if it was small in the corner of the page
It really shows how the boundaires of Gal can be pushed and how it can be incorporated into different styles to suit personal fashion


I love this girls facial expression and hair bow, but whats this?
A shaved head, along with Chinatsu it's enough for temptation during the Summer heat!


I adore the girl on the left's outfit it's really well put together!
I also like the girl ont he right for being "standard" Gal with such a striking green hair streak


I haven't read magazines properly for a while but I am more tempted to now to see what other examples I can find

Detsu joins the rule breakers

In a recent entry I noticed Destu with a sneaky tattoo
It wasn't too long ago I had seen someone say that they weren't gal and no gals had them
(If I'm not mistaken Kaoru has a tattoo too!)

Nails, not all good news ↓ ↓

Today I'd like to quickly talk about a "dark side" to nails
I'm one of those people where if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all!
So when I got my nails done with fellow blogger and good irl friend Bloomzy last month
I was destined for misfortune haha

Here is what I had done...

It was based off a GILFY staff-chan design I had seen on Mitsu's Universal doll ♥
It was... £25 to have them done, all was well and I was excited to have my first set of falsies
The only problem I though I was going to have was the stars falling off
but that was nothing I couldn't fix

Then whilst out in a club, my friend knocked into my hand and it hurt, a little too much!
I could feel my nail lifting and persumed it was just the acrylic so off to the toilet to inspect
There I saw it was infact MY nail was lifting!!! Omgomgomg, I didn't want to risk it being knocked, especially since the whole finger became sensitive and the nail began to bleed!
I wrapped it up when I got in and once the pain calmed down
I trimmed the acrlying down so it didn't catch

However, it still hasn't healed
I've literally just had my nails taken off and here is how the injured nail looks...

(I hope no one finds it too gruesome, I'm sure it could be worst)
All the paler section of the nail is the area which is lifted from my nail bed
and as you can see it's been cut extremely short!


I know it's not the most interesting or happy of tales however I did feel it was worth mentioning because unfortunatly these things do happen
Don't let it put you off having your nails done at all
I know I will have mine done again once my nail has healed and I'm on a healthier budget
Just make sure when you're having your acrylics put on that the length is managable and practical!

For now I will hide my damage with on of my MANY paints by Barry M

...hmmm which colour should I choose? I have too many hehe

In accordance to my last post where I focused on rule bending in Gal fashion
I thought I may keep this as a running theme and whenever a Gal I follow on Ameblo bends a rule share it with you for inspiration!

The queen of rule breaking Nonoka is at it again in her latest blog
Though it shows a lot of images of a snake eating, just to warn you!
I guess the pet snake itself is in some ways a rule breaker, I have one too hehehe

This is uncommon for Gal's who often have long tips on their nails

and then there's Kanako, who has been shooting for CocoLulu and...

sporting some rather large spikes!

So that's all I've spotted lately, I will keep you posted

Rules were made to be broken

Hello to anyone out there, it's my first real post here and I hope you enjoy it ♥

So what's the topic? Breaking gal boundaries of course
I'm a member of some Gal communities on Livejoural and quite often I see critics saying that something, someone posted is not GalIt sort of grinds my gears a little, it may not necessarily fall under some almighty Gal checklist but it falls under that individuals personality surely!
Fashion is amazing and it's inspiring to see what people make of it through their own perceptions. Nobody wants to be a clone ♪

So, who out there is breaking some boundaries?

Firstly, you can't ignore Nonoka

She is essentially the queen of boundary breaking when it comes to Gal
Pale, (often) dark lips and gothic inspired attire ♪
I adore reading her ameblo ands eeing her creative creations as she often makes fascinators
Not only does she have many ear piercings but she also has her lobe stretched, something I haven't seen on a Gal before
I think she should be a bigger part of EGG to show to people "Hey, you can rock not only you body but 109 too!" heehee

Secondly, good ol' Kaoru

Not only is her hair dark but it's also blue! She is daring with bold patterns and prints
She even recently turned up to the wedding of an EGG model wearing a Mickey Mouse costume, which she totally rocked


Thirdly, Kanako

Simply looking at her we can see she has yellow in her hair, daring for an un-natural colour
and she does often wear sneakers instead of the "gal must have" heels!
An inspiration for a casual Gal life
It also should be noted she has her tounge pierced and loves Jack Skellington, another gothic inspirstion


Fourthly and lastly, Romihi

Romihi has been daring with her hair in the past, dark reds and even all pink.
It's the reason I was drawn to her
She also has an eyebrow piercing!


Dark hair, dark lips, goth, sneakers > heels and piercings
All of these I have seen on the forementioned communities as "not-gal"
but here we have some amazing models working them ★


As for me? I don't recognise myself as a Gal I think perhaps I break nearly every boundary
and so I merely try my best to take influence from it and over the years it has helped me become a much happier person
I often go to clubs, dressed to impress yet will spend the night rocking away to some Enter Shikari. Who cares? Thats just me ♪

So, I tried making one of these before and got rid of it straight away
But now I'm back !
I have a decent post in mind, for whenever I get around to doing it
Though I am sceptical to post here yet
I don't want it to be a personal blog
Nor do I want to be just another Gal fan blogger
...but that's just me, awkward and wanting to break the mould
